PPE – Protective attire that provides little to no conventional protection against weaponry, but often has vastly improved protection against specific types of damage.
Soft Armour – Lighter armour that can be comfortably worn and barely if at all restricts movement. Generally only effective against small arms fire.
Hard Armour – Heavier armour that can be difficult to move and fight in, but offers much better protection.

The baseline Protection that the armour offers against all damage types except Disruption, Nerve, Radiation, and Suffocation.
The additional Protection that the armour can offer against specific damage types.
If the armour has an Ex Protect number, it counts as this higher Protection value against these specific damage types.
