Soldier classes are the undisputed masters of ranged weapons. Able to wield weapons with a skill and variety rarely seen, they are often seen as flexible to the needs of the situation; whether a close engagement requires a shotgun, or a silent assassination requires a sniper, the solider is more than capable of performing either.
Guns are commonplace in the post-poc, having been heavily distributed in the uneasy political climate that led to the apocalypse. While every class uses them, only the Soldier has truly mastered them.
When it comes to using the extensive weaponry available in The Far Wastes, no characters do that better than the Soldiers.
Being the only class adept with every ranged weapon, and getting unique features to further improve them, Soldiers can use guns in a way unmatched among the other classes.
Soldiers are the least complex of all TFW classes, but there’s a lot of variety of playstyles among the three subclasses; the Bastion, the Commander, and the Lancer.
Largely unrestricted by limits on their abilities, a Soldier can hold up a squad until the end of the danger.
All Amateur ranged weapons, and one Amateur melee of your choice.
All armour.
One two-handed ranged weapon, one one-handed ranged weapon, one melee weapon.
Soft (K-Insert) or hard (Tier 1) armour.
Spend an hour with a piece of equipment to modify it, improving some aspect of its functioning.
Choose 2 mods to obtain; you can choose multiple of the same mod.
You can only apply the chosen mods to one piece of equipment each, and equipment can only bear one mod at a time.
If a modified piece of equipment is lost, the parts for a new mod can be purchased from most weaponsellers.
