The basic numbers that represent and inform your character’s capacity.

What Are Stats

There are seven stats in The Far Wastes that represent the different facets of ability one may possess in the post-poc.

Higher stats represent a better capacity to do things related to that stat.

Given the difficult, dangerous, and irradiated nature of the world after the apocalypse, it’s entirely possible that NPCs and even players will have negative stats.

This is normal.

It’s a hard life.

The Stats

RES - Resistance

One’s ability to resist damage and harmful effects.

MGT - Might

One’s ability to exert physical strength.

FIN - Finesse

One’s ability to move and act quickly, and precisely.

OBS - Observation

One’s ability to perceive and understand the world around them.

COM - Communication

One’s ability to express themselves and interact with others.

INT - Intelligence

One’s ability to reason, calculate, and remember.

TEK - Tech

One’s ability to interact with and manipulate modern technology.

Rolling Starting Stats

When making a new character, you must roll to determine the stats they have.

Roll 2d6-8 to give a number between 4 and -6.

Do that 8 times in total, and then use the best 7 results as your stats.

Most rolls will end up as negatives, but remember it’s the post-apocalypse… Things aren’t exactly going great for anyone.

Health

Health is the damage a character can take before they succumb to their wounds.

Characters have a Max Health - based on their class, their RES, and usually a dice roll - and a Current Health.

Your Current Health can never go higher than your Max Health.

Passive Heal

Players heal 10% of their Max Health per hour of rest.

If resting for 8 hours or more in a row, they heal 100%.

‘Rest’ is generally non-strenuous activity such as reading, relaxing, sleeping, or maintaining one’s equipment. Travelling typically isn’t considered ‘rest’ unless acting only as a passenger; it’s only rest if one could reasonably doze off without active risk.

Active Healing

Compounds, made of chemicals, can be used to quickly heal organic creatures and players. These can be purchased from NPCs or produced by Chemists.
